About us
God's providence joins us together; God's word keeps us united. We are a group of Protestant Christian believers meeting for bible study in Smithfield, NC that have a heart for expository preaching and Covenantal/Confessional worship. Below are some additional teachings, outside of the 3 Forms of Unity, that we hold to.
Teachings We Don't Support and Believe:

-
Theonomy and Federal Vision - nor authors and pastors such as: Doug Wilson, Steve Wilkins, and Gary DeMar. Theonomy denies the biblical teaching of justification and is another false gospel. Source: RCUS Report on Federal Vision.

-
The Center for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood - we are confessional and support what the Bible says about men and women in relation to God and each other. While the CBWM makes some good points about the roles of men and women, and the Nashville Statement is a sound document, however, the organization supports the false teaching of Eternal Subordination of the Son (ESS), which discredits it. Two-stage justification - we reject the idea that one is initially saved by God's grace, but continues to stay saved by his own good works. The idea of initial justification at conversion and final justification at the judgment, based on our good works is contrary to the biblical doctrine of justification. Norman Shepherd, John Piper, and Mark Jones (defending John Piper) have been instrumental in spreading this false teaching or having affection for it. This is a knee-jerk reaction to abusing grace (antinomianism), which the solution isn't more error, but the Gospel. Source: Reformation21

Teachings We Support:

-
Children as part of the covenant community and should be treated as such and remain in corporate worship, if possible, with the exception of small children needing care in a nursery.
-
We also believe and have affection for the Westminster Confession of Faith.
